Description | An open and aggressive tread design gives the High Roller II excellent soil penetration and mud-clearing ability. A square profile provides a solid, consistent feel across the knobs. Modified knobs on the shoulder and centre improve braking performance and traction on hard surfaces. When gravity pulls you downhill, rely on the High Roller II to keep you upright. DOWNHILL (DH) CASING Two layers of casing material are used from bead to bead, providing additional protection and sidewall stiffness for downhill applications. - OPEN TREAD DESIGN - IMPROVED BRAKING AND TRACTION - 3C MAXX GRIP - DUAL-PLY CASING WITH BUTYL INSERT - TUBELESS READY BUTYL INSERT An extra piece of butyl rubber that extends from the bead of a downhill tire up into the sidewall. The butyl insert helps prevent pinch flats, protects the rim from hard hits and adds sidewall stability RUBBER COMPOUNDS The most important part of a tire is arguably the rubber compound within the tread. By changing the amounts of various components of the rubber formula, engineers can make two identical looking tires perform completely differently. This tyre uses 3C MAXX GRIP. 3C Maxx Grip uses the softest rubber compounds to offer the ultimate in grip and slow rebound properties for unparalleled traction in downhill applications. FOLDABLE BEAD Foldable beads also keep the tire secured to the rim but are lighter weight and easily transported. The bead is made of spun aramid or Kevlar® fibres TUBLESS READY Tubeless tires provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tire; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tires provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tire without the weight penalty. Liquid sealants should only be used in the following types of tires: Tubeless Road, Tubular, and Tubeless Ready. The use of liquid sealants in any other Maxxis tire will void the warranty. TUBELESS READY DOWNHILL Tubeless downhill setups are a great way to shave some weight and spend more time in the bike park or shuttling hot laps on your local runs. Sealant compatible rubber is used with the familiar Maxxis dual-ply 60 TPI downhill construction and butyl insert for support and rim protection in order to offer the benefits of increased grip and reliability. A tubeless ready bead securely locks to the rim and the foldable bead provides additional weight savings. |
